The Republicans Who Want Ignorance to Get Equal Time in Schools
It seems like Tennessee and Oklahoma (my state) are in a race to the bottom with each other to see just how much like the dark ages they can make their education systems. This article does a great job of pointing out how Republicans in states like these are trying to enforce a particular equivalency of views when actual facts and evidence do not hold up.
This is especially true in Oklahoma when it comes to right-wing hate groups and their impact. See my blog post from a year ago about how Oklahoma legislators try to divert attention away from the realities of the Oklahoma City bombing.

Handcuffed kindergartner story is not going away
This story is not going away because it was a little girl who was handcuffed this time. Boys this age have been getting this treatment for some years now. Elementary school discipline programs are full of boys, and little concern has been voiced. But now…a girl….well!
